Each notebook or desktop or web server is run by an Operating System - the low-level software which interacts with the hardware equipment, including peripheral devices such as a mouse and a printer, and any applications that are currently installed on your system. Any program input through a command line or a Graphical User Interface (GUI) is processed by sending an Application Program Interface (API) request to the OS. On a server, each application runs within the parameters established by the OS as well - priority, physical memory, processing time, and so on. This goes for both standard Internet site scripts and server-side software like a media server. In case a virtual server is set up on a physical one, there can be two separate Operating Systems, called guest OS and host OS, so you will be able to set up a different software environment on the same machine.

Multiple OS in VPS Servers

We provide three different Linux releases for the Operating System of our VPS servers - Debian, CentOS and Ubuntu. These are among the safest and the most reliable OSs available on the market and we provide all 3 instead of only one because we realize that you may want to set up some software with specific requirements regarding the Operating System it shall run on. The latter is due to the fact that each of the three Operating Systems has a vast support community behind it and there're different software packages you could install on the hosting server. Your OS selection will also determine what hosting Control Panel can be set up on the VPS in case you would like to use one and for that reason we offer several Control Panels too. In the event you decide that you need some other OS, our tech support can quickly wipe the existing one and set up the one that you would like. In addition, we offer an optional service to have the OS on your VPS updated weekly.

Multiple OS in Dedicated Servers

The dedicated servers that we offer can be set up with as many as three different Operating Systems because we want to offer you more versatile plans which will allow you to install and run any web software whatever its system requirements. The options are CentOS, Debian and Ubuntu and these 3 OSs are some of the most dependable and safe ones, not mentioning that they don't have any kind of license charges. All three have a large number of developers who have created a huge number of software packages that you'll be able to install and use on your hosting server. We also offer three hosting Control Panels and which one you can use depends on the Operating System that you select when you sign up. If you need another OS later, it won't be a problem as we can always reinstall your server. With our Managed Services package we can also keep your OS secure by upgrading it on a weekly basis with any patches that are released for it.
