If you would like to transfer a domain name from one domain registrar to another, you’ll need to go through a couple of security steps. One of them is obtaining a special EPP authorization code from the present domain registrar – as long as you are the domain registrant, since the code is sent to the domain owner’s mailbox and no one else can get it. You will have to provide this code to the new domain registrar, otherwise they won’t be able to initiate the domain name transfer process. The EPP authentication codes are case-sensitive and may contain numbers or special symbols such as dots or commas, which can be easily mistyped, so make sure you copy and paste the right code. As an extra protection measure, the transfer code for a domain name may be altered on a regular basis. Some companies refer to this code as a domain password, an Auth key or a domain secret as well.

EPP Transfer Protection in Shared Web Hosting

You can obtain the EPP transfer code for any domain name that you’ve registered with our company with only several mouse clicks from the same Hepsia Control Panel that you’ll use to administer your shared web hosting account. As soon as you go to the Registered Domains section, you will see all your domain names neatly displayed in alphabetical order. If some TLD extension supports transfers between domain name registrars with an EPP code, you will notice an EPP button on the right side of the given domain name. If you click on that button, the code will be emailed to the email associated with the Registrant contact for the given domain. If you wish, you can edit the contact info, including the email address, without needing to leave this section of the Control Panel, if the currently entered email address isn’t valid anymore.

EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

If you’ve got a semi-dedicated server account with our company and you have registered a domain that you want to transfer, you can get the EPP transfer code remarkably easy through the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will administer both your domain names and your account. If you go to the Registered Domains section, you will see an EPP symbol to the right of your domains, provided that their extensions support transfers between registrar companies with such a code. All codes are emailed automatically by our system to the registrant’s email address to make sure that only the domain owner can receive this information. In case the currently listed address is not valid anymore, you can edit it with a couple of clicks of the mouse without needing to leave this section of the Control Panel. The update is instantaneous, so you will be able to request the EPP code for the respective domain right away.
